Marys Peak is the highest mountain in the Oregon Coast Range, about 20 miles west of Corvallis. It is in the Siuslaw National Forest, has several trails, and fine scenic views. McDonald Forest is a 7000+ acre research forest close to the north of Corvallis, managed by Oregon State University. Nonmotorized recreation is allowed, with certain restrictions. The forest has many trails and gravel roads suitable for hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking.
